"Ivanka Trump will lead the US delegation to India this fall, supporting women's entrepreneurship globally," Trump said in a tweet yesterday, hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement on the micro-blogging site.
India and the US will co-host the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad from November 28 to 30, Modi said.
"Look forward to Ms Ivanka Trump's presence at Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 Hyderabad as the leader of US delegation," he wrote in the tweet.
She also posted a picture of her shaking hand with the prime minister.

A decision in this connection was taken when Modi and Trump held their first meeting at the White House in June.
Ivanka, 35, is also the advisor to the US president.
In her tenure, she has emerged as a strong advocate of women and child issues.
The focus of the 2017 GES will be on women, the US Embassy in New Delhi said in a statement today.
The GES is the preeminent annual gathering of emerging entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from around the world.
"Through networking, mentoring and workshops, the GES empowers entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, and create innovative goods and services that will transform societies," the statement said.
MaryKay Carlson, Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy here, said the Global Entrepreneurship Summit is the latest example of how the two countries are working together to advance the promise of an increasingly digital world and the remarkable entrepreneurial skills of our people to promote prosperity.
"The Indian government and Prime Minister Modi are great partners, whose robust startup ecosystem, top notch talent, and supportive government policies have made it one of the world's leading startup capitals," the statement quoted Carlson as saying.
Quoting NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, the statement said, "We need to harness technology to solve some of the most pressing problems in healthcare delivery, energy, safe drinking water and agriculture, among others for the benefit of communities at large.
