Referring to the recent deaths of two tigers in Haripur forest in Pilibhit and another in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Gandhi said the institute was not serious about looking into the circumstances that led to the deaths.

Claiming that the deaths were due to poisoning, she cast doubts on the reliability of IVRI reports.

The BJP MP also raised objection over the statement of incharge of IVRI's Centre for Wildlife Conservation Management and Disease Surveillance doctor A K Sharma that there were difficulties in detecting cause of death as the bodies of the tigers were mutilated.

She also demanded setting up of a special force to look into tiger deaths.
