In a letter to Karat, a copy of which was released to the media here, Iyer said Karat should condemn terrorism to 'convince the people that blood is not the stuff of communist radicalism'.
He urged Karat to make a public declaration against the 'macabre sanguinary attributed to the party via Mani'.
'We need today a radical transformation of the economic structure of this country by a radical change without violence and untruth of any sort. It is these principles which make India's culture crimson and truly socialist and me a crypto communist', he said.
During the last few days, violent revelations punctuated by blood and terrorism have shaken up the peoples' vision about CPI(M). "Your unmistakable condemnation of terrorism will convince the people that blood is not the stuff of communist radicalism', he said.
