"Series of camps have to be organised for making people aware about different welfare and employment schemes launched under SKEWPY, Urban Development and other departments for addressing the needs of people", he said addressing a high-level meeting to review the pace and progress of different projects and welfare schemes launched in the rural and border belts of the state here last evening.
Tara Chand said that exemplary initiatives have been taken by the government to uplift socio-economic profile of the people of the state.
These initiatives on the one hand cater to development needs and on the other address welfare requirement of different sections of society, he added.
"Besides launching mega-infrastructure development projects all across the state, welfare initiatives like SKEWPY, MNREGA as well as different schemes for weaker sections, elders, migrants, widows and those living below poverty line, are well serving their purpose," he added.
Prestigious development projects have been launched to create durable assets in the rural pockets and those involved in these projects should take utmost care that public money gets utilised in most efficient and transparent manner, he underscored.
