The awards were announced by Additional Secretary and Mission Director, NRHM, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Anuradha Gupta at the concluding day of National Summit on 'Best Practices and Innovations in Public Healthcare' at SKICC here yesterday, an official spokesman said today.
He said Gupta declared State awards for best health indicators in categories of child survival, infant survival, newborn survival, population stabilisation, safe delivery, indoor and surgical services, out-patient services, malaria control and TB control.
The Maximum awards were bagged by Bihar (five) followed by Maharashtra, Odhisa and Assam (four each), J-K, Chandigarh, Chattisgarh, Karnataka, Rajasthan (three each).
The National Summit, organised by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on July 3.
During the summit States across the country presented their best practices and innovations in Public healthcare and thereby provided an opportunity for sharing and learning from each other and broaden the horizon to take the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) forward with enhanced enthusiasm, the spokesman added.
