J-K cabinet sub-committee takes ppl's views on new admin units

A state cabinet sub-committee today interacted with representatives of political parties, sarpanches and civil society members on their suggestions on creation of new administrative units in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Creation of New Administrative Units, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, visited Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban and held meetings with political representatives and members of civil society.
Besides Chand, the members of the committee included Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Agriculture G H Mir, Minister for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister for Planning & Development Ajay Sadhotra.
Addressing a gathering at Doda, Chand said the committee will examine and consider the demands and proposals of the people for the establishment of new administrative units in the state.
He invited suggestions from the political representatives, sarpanches and civil society members so that delimitation process could be carried out as per the aspirations of the people.
Various political party representatives including Congress, National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, Bhartiya Janta Party, etc, besides sarpanches, civil society and bar association members participated and presented their demands and suggestions.
The Jammu and Kashmir government had last year constituted the cabinet sub-committee to examine modalities for implementation of the Mushtaq Ganaie Committee Report on creation of new administrative units and to take on-board fresh demands on this account.
