Eight persons were killed and another was injured last evening when a passenger vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down into a 800-metre gorge in Doda district, 200-kms from here.
In his condolence message, the chief minister expressed sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for early recovery of the injured.
Omar also directed the district administration for providing all required medicare facilities to the injured.
The Governor has also expressed deep concern and dismay over the recurring loss of lives from sustained road accidents in certain areas of the state.
Vohra hoped that the DGP shall urgently enforce the strictest possible measures to reduce the incidence of tragic accidents in the state.
