Asif Qadir and Javid Ahmad also fired in two goals each to complete the rout on the opening day of the five-day-long tournament.
In the second match, Kerala were held to a goalless draw by Uttar Pradesh.
The nine teams participating in the championship 'Srinagar 2012' are Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana and Delhi.
Earlier, the players from all the nine teams were introduced to J&K Governor N N Vohra, who declared the tournament open.
"The matches will be played on league-cum-knockout basis and final match will be played at Bakshi Stadium on August 29," said John Samuel, chief Post Master General, Jammu and Kashmir Circle, Srinagar.
This is for the first time that Department of Posts, Jammu and Kashmir Circle, Srinagar is hosting the tournament.

Recalling that Jammu and Kashmir had passed through a difficult phase during the past years, Vohra complimented the chief Post Master General for taking notable initiatives not only for reviving the past glory of the postal services but also for the promotion of sports, which have contributed to re-invigorating contacts and interactions among youth from different parts of the country.
Minister for Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib gave details of the various initiatives being taken for the promotion of sports and games in the state.
"Earlier Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata, had played matches in Srinagar and now the famous Mohun Bagan team will be playing one match each at Srinagar and Jammu in the beginning of next month," Chib informed.
