He also accused the PDP-BJP government of trying to create a wedge between different regions of the state for political mileage.
"Both the state government and Centre have failed to reach out to the people to address their concerns," Mir told senior party functionaries at a meeting here.
He held the PDP-BJP coalition government in the state responsible for the deteriorating situation in the valley, saying that due to the wrong policies of the government, "people are passing through a very difficult situation and living in absolute fear".
Mir claimed the people have realized that they were "misled, betrayed and backstabbed by the coalition partners for the sake of coming into power".

The Congress leader said the people were suffering immensely in every respect due to the continuous shelling on borders and deteriorating law and order situation adding to the fear psychosis among the people.
"But the irony is that both state government and Centre have miserably failed to contain the situation. Rather the wrong policies adopted by them have added more problems," he alleged.
"The fact of the matter is both PDP and BJP have crossed all limits of favoritism and nepotism, thereby creating employment avenues for their wards and blue-eyed persons only, which is not only unfortunate, but highly condemnable as well," he alleged.
