"Following complaints against a policeman who was facilitating copying in 10th class bi-annual examination at an examination centre in Wadwan area of district Kishtwar, the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar has ordered immediate suspension of the accused policeman from the service," an official spokesman said.
Photographs appeared on social networking sites showing the policeman, with his service weapon slinging on his shoulder, helping some candidates with chits and books to write the examination.
The minister took up the matter with the DGP, seeking disciplinary action against the accused cop.
"The DGP has placed the accused cop under suspension pending inquiry and if the charges are proved, the policeman will be dismissed from the service," Akhtar said.
The minister said that clear instructions have been conveyed to the district administrations and education department functionaries across the state that the government would not tolerate any misconduct during examinations by any official or non-official.
