Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police S P Vaid today granted scholarship of Rs 6.34 lakh in favour of 137 wards of serving police personnel, who have secured 80 percent and above marks in 10th board examinations during 2017 academic session.
"The scholarship of Rs 6,000 each have been granted in favour of 43 wards for securing above 90 per cent marks and Rs 4,000 each have been granted in favour of 94 wards who have secured 80 per cent and above marks in the class 10th examination," a police spokesman said.
He said the scholarship have been granted out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
"Police Headquarters have been sanctioning scholarships and rewards under different heads for the wards of martyred and serving Police personnel to boost their morale," he added.
