J-K education minister visits Central University Jammu

The Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Education, Naeem Akhter today visited the Central University Jammu and took stock of its functioning.
The Minister, accompanied by the University Vice Chancellor Prof Ashok Aima also reviewed the pace of progress on the construction works at the upcoming campus site at Bagla (Rahya Suchani) in Samba district.
The Minister was apprised about the progress on construction work besides administrative setup that had recently been shifted there.
He was also apprised that the management was soon shifting six academic departments from temporary campus, Sainik Colony to the upcoming Campus.
Responding to the issues raised by the Varsity Management, Akhter assured that he would take up the issues with the concerned departments for meeting the immediate requirement of electricity, water and roads for the new campus.
The Minister lauded the fast pace of the construction work and the functioning of the university, particularly the running of 12 postgraduate (PG) and eight research programmes within a short span of three years.

He urged the Central University Vice Chancellor to adopt a Government school of the area and subsequently develop it into cluster school to provide quality education to the children of the area.
He also assured the Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Ashok Aima of providing all assistance to the institution to establish and improve the required infrastructure.
Naeem Akhter also stressed the need to pay special attention on quality of work at the varsity and asked to follow the specifications.
