J&K floods: BJP sends relief materials

Delhi unit of BJP today dispatched off a truck loaded with relief materials for people affected in flood ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.
Delhi BJP unit president Satish Upadhyay flagged off the truck along with other party members and said that they are even ready to send their workers to the flood affected state to aid rescue operations.
Today's consignment included 300 tents, 4 ton rice, 1 ton pulses, 500 blankets, 5 boxes of women garments, biscuits and water bottles along with medicines worth around Rs 5.5 lakh, the party said in a statement.
Armed forces and National Disaster Relief Force have rescued over two lakh people trapped due to the floods in Jammu and Kashmir as relief operations entered the 13th day today. Over one lakh people are still marooned after the worst floods in the state in a century unleashed a trail of death and destruction, claiming at least 250 lives.
