The Governor visited the camps in Hiranagar, Kathua and Samba sectors where he interacted with the displaced people and heard their grievances.
The Deputy Commissioners of Kathua and Samba informed Vohra that all necessary arrangements have been made for providing the basic facilities of housing to the displaced people.
The relief extended to the affected families includes shelter, beddings, food, medicines and other items of daily requirement.
The Governor asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made to the people to minimize their hardships, especially in the continuing harsh weather.
Over 32,000 border people were forced to leave their homes and take shelter in camps set up by the government in August and October due to heavy firing and shelling by Pakistani troops along the international border and Line of Control.
