The state cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, approved the ordinance called 'Jammu and Kashmir Private Security Agencies Regulation Ordinance', Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar told reporters here.
Briefing the media about the cabinet meeting, Akhtar said despite high demand, the private security agencies played no major role in the state.
"Unfortunately, all of that (security) burden comes to the state government. Economic activities are increasing and the social prominence of the people is increasing as well and everyone of them wants to avail the security," Akhtar said.
