J-K Govt bans use of incandescent lamps
Press Trust of India Jammu Jammu and Kashmir government has banned the use of incandescent lamps in all government and commercial establishments in the state, in a move aimed at conservation and efficient use of energy. The government has, meanwhile, made the use of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) mandatory. The use of incandescent lamps in all new buildings constructed in government sector, government institutions, PSUs, autonomous bodies, commercial establishments has been banned with immediate effect, according to a government order issued here yesterday. The order further states that use of CFLs shall be mandatory in the aforesaid establishments after sanction orders stating their energy load have been obtained from the government.
