"A criminal case has been registered against the company for the supply of fake amoxicillin capsules (to the Ministry of Medical Education). It has endangered lives of patients in the State", Medical education Minister Taj Mohideen told reporters here today.
The capsules supplied by the Pharma Company with no amocicillin content in them there threatening the lives of the thousands of Patients, he said.
The purchases have been made by the Purchase Committee headed by the Principal Medical college under the Medical Education Ministry during last year.
"The capsules does not contain any anti-body-- if it does not contain any anti-body, patients can die during post operative care as these capsules are given to them from hospitals during post operative care", he said.

"It has been heinous crime--I am ashamed of officers and others who have passed these drugs before testing them", he added.
Pharma company has 50,000 supplied Maximizen (anti-biotic) capsules worth Rs 10 lakh out of which 80 per cent of the these capsules were consumed and 20 per cent were left out, Mohideen said.
