"Government is endeavouring for creation of revenue related infrastructure in every nook and corner of the state so that the revenue related issues of the people could be solved at their doorsteps," Bhalla, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, said.
The state government was committed to provide a people- friendly administration and several initiatives have been undertaken in the revenue department for this purpose.
While inspecting the proposed site for construction of revenue complex (Niabat) at Narwal, he hoped that with its completion, revenue related problems of about four lakh people there and in adjoining areas would be solved under one roof.
The government is formulating a comprehensive plan for opening of Niabats across the state including remote areas so that the people are facilitated with regard to easy availability of revenue records, he said.
The government was also keen to construct revenue complexes including Patwarkhanas, Niabats and tehsil buildings, revenue record rooms with all modern facilities on the available revenue land in every district of the state.
During the four years tenure of the coalition government, a number of model computerised record rooms were constructed to allow people to trace their revenue records conveniently, he said, adding that the computerisation process is under progress on a war-footing.
The department is also distributing revenue passbooks to farmers containing all records pertaining to their land to ensure transparency at grassroots level.
Calling upon the people to avail the benefits of Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA) in solving issues related to the revenue department, Bhalla said instructions have been issued to the officials concerned to strictly implement its guidelines.
