J-K govt extends vacations for schools till Mar 14
Press Trust of India Jammu Jammu and Kashmir government has extended the winter vacations till March 14 for the students upto class VIII in all the educational institutions in Kashmir division due to inclement weather.
Due to the inclement weather, the government has extended the winter vacations till March 14 for the students upto class VIII in all the government educational institutions and recognised private schools, falling in Kashmir division and areas under winter zone in Jammu province, an official spokesman said here today.
They had earlier ordered that all the government educational institutions shall reopen on March 9 (Monday), and the students of classes IX to XII shall commence their studies as usual from March 9 itself.
In this regard, the directors of school education, Kashmir and Jammu have been directed to ensure that the staff of all the government schools, including primary and middle, report for duty from March 9 and oversee the arrangements for smooth functioning of the classes in their respective institutions.
