J-K govt forms committee to settle Ambulance issue: Min

Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a committee headed by Special Secretary Health and Medical Education to settle the issue regarding pressing into service 50 Ambulances which have been procured under NRHM.
These ambulances have been procured by the government for deployment at different locations to meet the emergencies.
The decision in this regard was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan here yesterday, an official spokesman said.
The Minister directed the committee to submit its recommendations with in shortest possible time so that these ambulances are put to services at the desired locations.
In order to upgrade the transportation facilities in the health institutions, the Minister said Centre has sanctioned Rs 14 crore for purchase of 200 new Ambulances for the state under NRHM.
Necessary process has been initiated in this regard and the ambulances would be procured soon after release of the funds, he added.
