J-K Govt sets up committee for deletion of obsolete laws

The Jammu and Kashmir government today constituted an eight-member body headed by Advocate General M I Qadri for reviewing and updating the existing laws and deleting the obsolete ones in the state.
"Government has accorded sanction to the constitution of a Committee for the review and updation of existing laws and deletion of obsolete laws in the state," an official spokesman said here.
Besides Qadri, the committee shall comprise of Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department, G H Tantray, Special Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Farhat Tasneem, Additional Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Muzaffer Ahmad Wani.
The others members of the committee included Additional Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Achal Sethi, Member Secretary and two eminent lawyers to be co-opted by the Committee, he added.
