J&K govt suspends revenue officer for dereliction of duty

Jammu and Kashmir government today placed a revenue officer under suspension for allegedly violating a law in connection with land records in Baramulla district of the state, officials said.
Financial Commissioner Revenue Arun Kumar has placed Syed Fayaz-ud-Din, Naib Tehsildar Pattan under suspension and attached him with the office of Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Srinagar, an official spokesman said.
The suspension has been ordered on the basis of a preliminary report from the Commissioner Survey and Land records about the alleged attestation of land situated in village Devar Yakmanpora Baramulla in favour of some person in violation of law, he said.
The record of all such transfers in the concerned Patwar Halqa has been seized and the Regional Director, Survey and Land records, Srinagar has been asked to hold detailed enquiry in the matter, he said.
