J&K Govt to deploy 50 buses to ferry officials for darbar move

The Jammu and Kashmir government will deploy 150 trucks and 50 buses to transport documents and ferry officials from the state's winter capital Jammu to its summer capital Srinagar, where the 'darbar' will reopen on May 5.
As many as 150 trucks and 50 buses will be deployed for ferrying official record and employees on April 26, 27 and May 3 and 4, an official spokesman said.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey today discussed arrangements for the annual Darbar move from Jammu to Srinagar.
The civil secretariat and other offices will close in Jammu on April 25 and will re-open in Srinagar on May 5, while advance parties shall be moving to Srinagar on April 21.
Arrangements have also been made for providing escort to the employees and convoy carrying the official record from Jammu to Srinagar, the spokesman said.
The Chief Secretary directed putting in place all necessary measures to ensure smooth movement of the 'darbar', including cranes, mobile workshop, besides providing mobile medical teams and ambulances all along the national highway during these days.
