At least 50 schools in Jammu and Kashmir will be upgraded as Model Schools in the next three months which will be equipped with computer labs, smart classrooms and implementation cells to prepare students for the cutting-edge competition.
The Commissioner Secretary of Education Department, Shaleen Kabra, informed Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during his visit to Kashmir University's South Campus yesterday.
"At least 50 schools will be upgraded as Model Schools over the next three months," Kabra said.
"These Model Schools will empower students at cutting edge level and will have counseling centres, computer labs, smart classrooms and implementation cells so that they are prepared to face stiffer competition at higher levels," he said.
He said six schools -- three each in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions -- will be developed as Model Schools by August 10.
These schools will feature all aspects of a modern educational institution, he added.
