"J&K Government will upgrade the police hospitals at Jammu and Srinagar with latest diagnostic and infrastructural facilities with a view to ensure quality health care to the police personnel and their families," Health and Family Welfare Minister Sham Lal Sharma said.
While interacting with the top brass of police department and hospital administration of police hospital here, the minister said that the government was aware about the increased workload in view of adequate expansion in the different wings of the force during the past few years.
"It is the endeavour of Government to provide quality health care to everyone in the department and their family members which is their fundamental right," he said.
He directed the Medical Superintendents of both the police hospitals of Jammu and Srinagar to submit a comprehensive proposal in consultation with the senior functionaries of the department for their upgradation according to the increased workload and future requirements.
The minister also directed to introduce the Janta Health Insurance Scheme in the police department to facilitate the police personnel.
