J-K govt transfers 30 IPS, 4 IAS officers

In a major reshuffle, Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered posting and transfers of over 30 senior police officers, including six Inspector Generals of Police, and four officers each from Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS).
The transfers and postings were ordered by the cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here, an official spokesman said.
Jagjit Kumar, Sham Lal Sharma, Shafqat Ali Watali, Mubarak Ahmad Ganaie and J P Singh - who were awaiting orders of adjustment - have been posted as IGP Security, IGP (CIV) police headquaretrs, IGP Armed (Jammu), IGP Telecommunications and IGP Homeguards respectively against the available vacancies.
Singh shall also, till further orders, hold the additional charge of the post of Additional Director General of Police, Homeguards, relieving ADGP, Armed of the additional charge of the post, the spokesman said.
He said Mukesh Singh, who was posted as IGP, Human Rights, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Armed, Kashmir, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), south Kashmir, Vijay Kumar has been transferred and posted as DIG, Traffic, Kashmir, against an available vacancy.
Alok Kumar, IPS, who was awaiting orders of adjustment, has been posted as DIG, SKR, Anantnag, the spokesman said.

He said Nisar Ahmad, DIG, Railway Security, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Traffic, Jammu, against an available vacancy.
Uttam Chand, AIG, CIV, PHQ, holding additional charge of the post of SP, Jammu, has been posted as SP, Jammu on full-time basis, the spokesman said.
He said Imtiaz Ismail Parray, Additional SP South, Srinagar, has been transferred and posted as SP, Ganderbal, vice Shahid Mehraj Rather.
