N N Vohra conveyed wishes and greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on new year.
The governor appreciated people living along the LoC for their determination and fortitude in facing the repeated ceasefire violations from across the border.
He also thanked the security forces for containing the activities of terrorist networks despite the targeted attacks on personnel of the uniformed forces, many of whom had paid the supreme sacrifice in the past months.
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said he hoped that the coming year shall usher the state into a new era of peace, progress and prosperity.
In a joint message, the Ministers have hoped that New Year brings along joy, peace and prosperity for the people of the state who have seen ample difficulties in recent past.
