The minister visited emergency, disaster, orthopedic, surgery and other units of the hospital and assessed the medicare being provided to the patients, an official spokesman said.
He interacted with the patients and enquired about the treatment facilities being provided to them at the hospital.
Eight civilians were killed and over 20 were injured, of which 15 were seriously wounded including 14-month-old girl Pari who was shifted to GMC late last night, in the cross border firing yesterday.
Also, round-the-clock healthcare services are being ensured by the District and Sub-District hospitals as well as primary healthcare centres.
Earlier, the minister chaired a meeting of GMC hospital administration to review the overall functioning of the hospital besides taking stock of emergency services.
