"The highway has been reopened for vehicular traffic after a day-long closure. The stranded vehicles were allowed to move to Srinagar and Jammu capital cities", Police officials said.
The highway was closed after landslides at Maroog, Seri and Ramban areas triggered by heavy rains on the night of August 3.
The Border Road Organisation (BRO) cleared the landslides at all the three places and traffic resumed on the highway.
Over 200 vehicles have been stranded at various places enroute the highway due to the landslides and were allowed to reach their destinations.
Heavy rains lashed Jammu region this morning bringing relief to people from the high levels of humidity.
