J&K minister orders suspension of 2 employees

Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Rural Development Abdul Haq Khan has ordered suspension of two employees of his department for alleged misappropriation of funds.
Khan, who made a surprise visit to Rural Development Department (RDD) in Akhnoor belt of the district yesterday after receiving complaints against VLW Jagdeep Singh and storekeeper Vijay Sharma, ordered suspension of the two employees, an official spokesman said.
He called for an enquiry against the duo and said appropriate action would be taken if the complaints, received from the public, are proven right.
The Minister said there is no space for malpractices in the department.
The government has zero tolerance against corruption and every step will be taken to ensure transparency in the department, including showing exit door to tainted officials, Khan said.
The Minister, while inspecting the working of the Block Development Officer's (BDO) Office, checked the attendance of the officials, bills and account details, besides checking details of all centres and engineering wing of the department, the spokesman said.
Khan exhorted upon the officials to work religiously so that the benefits of various schemes reach to the people.
He directed the officials to involve unemployed and unskilled youth in various centrally sponsored schemes like MGNREGA.
