J-K police is enhancing basic facilities for jawans: DGP

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dr S P Vaid today said the state police is enhancing basic facilities for its personnel and officers so that they can deliver in a better way.
"Besides other components like weaponry, mobility and networking, we are enhancing the basic facilities for the jawans and officers so that they can deliver in a better way," he said at a function in Kathua.
The DGP said adequate infrastructure besides other components has an important role in enhancing the professional capabilities of the force.
The organisation has been focusing on improvements in this field under its modernisation programme, he said.
The DGP said in recent years the J-K police has turned into a large force with multifarious duties and the organisation has been focusing on capacity building of the force in different fields.
"Under the progamme, residential and office accommodations have been constructed in every district of the state with an aim to enhance living and working conditions of personnel, especially in far-off areas," he said.
Cops are deployed in every corner of the state. They have to face hostile weather conditions and situations while performing their duties and a mega programme was undertaken for the capacity building of personnel, Vaid said.
He asked the officers and engineers, present on the occasion to prepare project plans, keeping in mind the latest requirements for a long period and monitor the execution works personally.
