"I urge the present dispensation to sensitise the administration so as to mitigate the problems of the common people... The administration seems to have gone into deep slumber and people are left in distress situation," senior CPI(M) leader M Y Tarigami said in a statement here.
He said the basic needs like ration, power and health care were hardly available to the people in the Valley and a crisis-like situation has emerged.
Damaged transformers have not been replaced and low voltage posed problem to not only the student community but also smooth running of health care services, he said.
"Corruption has become rampant and has made deep inroads into the administration. Corrupt elements are taking advantage of the present situation," said Tarigami, who represents Kulgam constituency in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
