The video, which has gone viral on the Internet apparently shows a wailing child in a dimly-lit classroom asked to recite at fast pace some elementary lessons by teachers, not seen in the frame.
Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools United Front (JKPSUF) demanded immediate inquiry into the video.
"We are highly disturbed by those videos that have surfaced on social media like Facebook and Youtube and in which students appear to be undergoing torture," General Secretary of the front G N Var said in a statement.
"We demand that the teachers be appropriately punished for subjecting children to such a treatment," he said.
The video is more than a month old as schools in Kashmir broke off for winter vacations on December 1 last year and will reopen only in first week of March. It was also not clear whether the school was private or government run.
