Sayeed, 79, will be administered oath of office by Governor N N Vohra here at a function which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers including Home Minister Rajnath Singh and senior BJP leaders Amit Shah, L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi among others.
Sayeed met Vohra here this afternoon, after which a Raj Bhavan spokesman said the Governor nvited Sayeed to form the government, a day after the PDP leader was elected leader of his party's legislature party.
Sayeed's swearing in as the 12th Chief Miniter at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium of Jammu University at 11 AM will bring to an end to 49 days of Governor's rule imposed on the state since the resignation of Omar Abdullah as chief minister after being voted out of power last December.
It will also mark Sayeed's return to the top post after nearly a decade since having led a PDP-Congress coalition government for three years from January 2002.
Separatist-turned politician and leader of People's Conference Sajjad Lone is also likely to be part of the coalition government.
