The championship will witness the participation of 17 teams from various states across the country.
This is the first event holistically dedicated to ice-skating, otherwise they were combined with winter sports event, Director Tourism, Kashmir Mehmood Shah told reporters here.
Shah said the event will be held at the famous ice-skating rink near Gulmarg Gondola.
"We have one of the best ice-skating rinks at the resort where this event will be held," Shah said.
He said 17 teams comprising 150 athletes from various states of the country will participate in the event.
"It will be the best opportunity for the youth of the state to showcase their talent and it will also help in attracting them to such games," Shah said.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Gupta, secretary general of Ice-Skating Association of India, said the event would prepare the participants for 2018 Olympics to be held in South Korea.
