J'khand CM condoles death of ex-CJI Altamas Kabir

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today condoled the death of former Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir.
In his condolence message, Das said Kabir had a special attachment for Jharkhand and with his loss the state has lost a true friend, and a void has been created with his demise, an official release said.
Former chief ministers Babulal Marandi and Arjun Munda also expressed their condolences at the demise of Kabir.
Altamas Kabir passed away at a Kolkata hospital this afternoon. He was 68 and is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
Kabir was appointed as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on March 1, 2005 and was thereafter appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of India on September 9, 2005.
He was appointed as the 39th Chief Justice of India on September 29, 2012.
