The CPI(M) today claimed the "worries" expressed by Sahitya Akademi winners through returning their awards in protest against "intolerance", actually vindicated their stand after Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das accused them of spreading "ideological terrorism" in the country.
"The litterateurs worry and thought of an atmosphere of intolerance being created proved right after the Chief Minister labelled them as spreading ideological terrorism," CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat told a press conference here.
Hitting out at Sahitya Akademi award winners who returned their laurels, Das had accused them of spreading "ideological terrorism" in the country and the conduct as "tyranny-like."
"You (Das) don't know the meaning of Janwad (Socialism), but you know tyranny only," said Karat.
