J'khand Speaker urges people to maintain peace and harmony

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon today called upon the people to make constructive effort in maintaining peace and harmony while expressing concern over recent violent incidents in the country and other parts of the world.
"Be it in the Kashmir Valley or Dhaka or Nice, such violent incidents were cause for concern," the Speaker said in his address to the House on the opening day of the Monsoon session.
Stating that India was a country that marches ahead with the feeling of peace and world harmony, Oraon said mutual cooperation and brotherhood were necessary for any society to move forward.

"And it is the responsibility of every individual as well as representatives of the people to make constructive efforts towards this (endeavour)," Oraon said and expressed hope of meeting the touchstone of democracy.
Later, taking up obituary references before the House was adjourned for the day, Oraon mourned the death of twenty foreign citizens, including Tarishi Jain, who died in the terror attack in Dhaka.
The loss of eight CRPF jawans in an encounter with Maoists in Bihar's Aurangabad was painful, the Speaker said.

Oraon expressed pain at the loss of CRPF personnel in a landmine explosion at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh and terror attack in Manipur that claimed jawan Surjit Barla, who was from Jharkhand.

He mourned the casualties that had occurred in the cloudburst in Uttarakhand, incident of fire crackers in Kerala's Putingal that claimed 106 lives and seven deaths in a fair in Madhya Pradesh.
Oraon also expressed grief at the passing away of Congress' Panki MLA Bidesh Singh, Lalmuni Choubey, who represented Buxur Lok Sabha, Bihar Legislative Council member H Kujur, former Bihar MLAs Madhu Jyosnah Akhori and Mahendra Narayan Jha, Kolhan agitation spearhead Krishna Chandra Hembram, former president of erstwhile Jan Sangh, Balraj Madhok and Forward Bloc leader Ashok Ghosh.
The House mourned the demise of Mohammad Shahid, who was the 1980 Moscow gold medal winning hockey team member.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das and several other leaders in the House joined the obituary references.
