J'khand Vigilance Deptt arrests CO for taking bribe

Sleuths of the State Vigilance department today caught the Circle Officer of Hiranpur block in Pakur district, while accepting bribe from a person.
Led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) Madhav Bhargav, a team of the vigilance department from Ranchi and Dumka arrested the Circle Officer, Devraj Gupta, while accepting Rs 20,000 from one Uttam Kumar Das.
Das was having a dispute with one Panchanan Beet over a piece of land.
Gupta had allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 from Das to accord the judgement in his favour.
Das had lodged a complaint in this regard with the Vigilance department, which laid a trap and arrested Gupta, while accepting the bribe.

Bhargav told reporters the Circle Officer was arrested and was being taken to Ranchi for production before the Vigilance Court.
