The film, written, directed by and starring Chan, tells the story of a man searching for a series of mystical artifacts based on the Chinese zodiac, the Hollywood Reporter said.
Director of distribution Ramy Choi that the film will open on "a few hundred screens" in either the spring of summer of next year, and will be released simultaneously in Europe.
"Chinese Zodiac" topped box-office lists in several countries during its recent run in Asian markets.
The movie, which also stars Oliver Platt and Liao Fan, opened at number one in Singapore, China, Malaysia and Thailand.
Chan currently has several new projects in the works, including a new movie with Rush Hour co-star Chris Tucker.
