'Jackie' nabs Film Independent Spirit Awards nomination

Oscar-buzzy biopic "Jackie" and Sundance hit "Manchester by the Sea" are among the nominees at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards, nabbing four and five nods respectively.
The nominations were announced by Jenny Slate and Edgar Ramirez, reported Ace Showbiz.
"Jackie" fights against other movies like "American Honey" and "Moonlight", which lead the pack with six nods each, and "Chronic" in Best Feature category.
"Jackie" helmer Pablo Larrain is up for Best Director, fighting against Andrea Arnold ("American Honey") and Barry Jenkins ("Moonlight"), who is also up for Best Screenplay category.
In Best Male Lead category, Casey Affleck competes with David Harewood, Viggo Mortensen, Jesse Plemons and Tim Roth.
Meanwhile, Natalie Portman is up for Best Female Lead for her portrayal of the former US First Lady in "Jackie", fighting against the likes of Annette Bening, Ruth Negga, Isabelle Huppert and Sasha Lane.

Nominated for Best Supporting Male actor are the likes of Shia LaBeouf, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Foster, Lucas Hedges and Craig Robinson.
Riley Keough is up for the Best Supporting Female category against other nominees, including Edwina Findley, Paulina Garcia, Lily Gladstone and Molly Shannon.
The 32nd Film Independent Spirit Awards will be held on February 25, 2017, the day before the Academy Awards ceremony.
