Opposing introduction of Telangana bill in Parliament, YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy today urged the President to consider the fact that the assembly had rejected the bifurcation proposal.
"The will of the people, the will of the assembly is against division," Reddy told reporters after meeting President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhawan here.
The YSR Congress party submitted a memorandum to the President in which he requested Mukherjee not to recommend the introduction of the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 in Parliament claiming it is being initiated against all constitutional conventions, precedents and practices.
The memorandum said that of the 279 MLAs, 157 have submitted in writing their views opposing the move to divide the state.
