Jagat Singh to be conferred Tenzing Norgay Adventure award

Subedar Jagat Singh is all set to be conferred with the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure awards at the Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow for his sustained performance in the field of mountaineering, exceptional stamina and extreme dedication.
Jagat Singh, who works with the Army, is one of India's leading climbers. He was an instructor at the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) for three years and has been on several mountaineering expeditions.
37-year-old ace mountaineer has climbed Mount Everest thrice. He first climbed it in 2003 and then honed his skill to repeat the feat in the years 2005 and 2013.
He has also climbed Mount Annapurna-1 in 2012.
Born in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, Jagat Singh was recommended for the Land Adventure award for his outstanding leadership qualities and impeccable record in mountaineering.
