Reacting to the state government's order issued late last night, Jagati Publications alleged in a statement this evening that the move to stop issuing advertisements was a "pre-meditated concerted action between CBI and the state government as both of them are working under the instructions of Congress high command."

"Why was the same principle not applied to Eenadu Telugu daily when the state government itself launched criminal proceedings against it in 2009"? said Jagati.

Citing the chargesheet filed by CBI against Jagati Publications, state Information and Public Relations Commissioner R V Chandravadan issued an order late last night asking state government departments, agencies, Public Sector Undertakings, corporations and organisations to "withhold release of advertisements, notifications, etc" with immediate effect "in public interest."

The ban on releasing advertisements to 'Sakshi' and the television channel would be in force till charges against them were cleared, Chandravadan added in the order.

The then government headed by Jagan's father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had issued an order on April 24, 2008, empanelling 'Sakshi' for government advertisements by relaxing rules.

CBI, as part of its investigations into Jagan's disproportionate assets case, seized over 46 files related to advertisements to 'Sakshi' from the I&PR Department.
