Private sector education major, Jagran Lakecity University (JLU) has collaborated with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) to offer training programmes in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by setting up a Centre of Excellence (COE).
"This indeed is a red letter day as a university has collaborated with IICA in not only offering training programmes in CSR but also in building the research, content and consulting through a Centre of Excellence in CSR", a university release quoted IICA Director General and CEO Bhaskar Chatterjee as saying today.
A multi-disciplinary executive committee has been established at JLU, ensuring that a broad spectrum of perspectives are included and pave the way for the Centre's development, it said.
Over time, the expectation is that the centre will enable greater understanding of effective partnering, relationships and tools available to the government, corporates, NGOs and academia alike in reference to CSR & sustainability through this centre, it added.
"The Centre is a dynamic organism of diverse opinions, interests, experience and expertise that collectively has the ability to increase the impact of socially responsible" JLU Chancellor, Harimohan Gupta said.
JLU is the partner to IICA for Integrated Certificate Programme in CSR of nine months and would soon be offering Short Term Programmes in CSR to professionals and students in Central India, it added.
IICA works under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
