The 13th edition of the festival will be held from March 24-26. It was initiated by Ali under the aegis of Rumi Foundation seeking to revive the Sufiyana kalams.
"We are dedicating the festival this year to Baba Farid (sufi saint). There will be several Sufi musicians from Punjab in this edition. There would also be Iranian flavour to the event. We are trying to get a few musicians from that country as well," he said.
"We are trying to do it Arab ki Serai, the same venue as last time. Also, this year, our aim is to take Sufi music closer to the younger generation, so we will be reaching out to the youth more than the seasoned audience or old-timers," Ali told PTI.
The "Umrao Jaan" fame director was in Delhi recently and met a few senior officials of the Iran Embassy here in this regard.
