Jail guard attacked by blast accused in Sabarmati prison

Four men accused in a serial blasts case allegedly attacked a guard at the Sabarmati jail here, police said.
The incident took place yesterday.
According to the FIR lodged at Ranip police station by the guard Kamlesh Samabhai, he was taking the accused out of the special barrack for a hearing (of the 2008 serial blasts case) through video conference from the jail premises.
The four men allegedly attacked him when he tried to prevent another accused from coming out of the barrack, he said.
The four accused named in the FIR are Mohd Ismael, Danish Asfaq Iqbal, Asadullah and Atikur Rahman.

The city crime branch is probing the case.
The accused were booked under sections 332 (causing hurt to deter a public servant), 186 (obstructing a public servant from performing duty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
