Jail sepoy arrested for abetting wife's suicide

A jail sepoy with the Central Jail here has been arrested alongwith two other family members for allegedly harassing his wife for dowry and driving her to commit suicide, police said today.
The trio--jail sepoy Paresh Tukaram Maid (28), his mother Asha Tukaram Maid (46) and sister Anuja Sachin Sonar (24)-- charged with physical and mental harassment of the woman, was arrested last night, API B S Khandale of Thane Nagar police station told PTI.
The newly wed woman, Hema Paresh Maid hung herself at the Central Jail residential quarters here on Friday night, police said.
Hema's in-laws were continuously demanding Rs 40,000 from her family for purchasing household items.

They were charged under various sections of IPC which included sections 498-A , 304-B and 306 rw 34 of the IPC, police said.
The case was registered based on the complaint filed by the victim's father, Sharad B Lolge, a driver from Ahmednagar, police said.
