In the first month of its operation, Jaipur Metro recorded a ridership of 14.94 lakh passengers and earned Rs 1.84 crore, its Chief Managing Director (CMD) N C Goyal said today.
The Jaipur Metro was thrown open to public on June 3 and the figures have been calculated till July 2.
It was incident-free running and people of Jaipur enjoyed their metro rail ride, Goyal said.
An average of 50,772 riders travelled per day and Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) earned an average income of Rs 12.31 per passenger in one month, he said.
No freebies were doled out and even Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had purchased her ticket while flagging-off the inaugural train.
The CMD said the total expenditure on running the phase-I A was about Rs 3 crore in previous month but the JMRC would be a profit-making unit in next ten years.

These roads were blocked due to tunnel boring as a precautionary measure.
First underground tunnel work would be completed by August from Choti-Chaupar to Chandpole, and second tunnel work would start after that, he said.
About 100 e-rickshaws and 80 four-wheelers would ply to connect common places with metro stations for riders' facilities, he said.
