Jaiswal stresses on infrastructure projects to boost industry
Press Trust of India Kanpur (UP) Union minister Shriprakash Jaiswal today said governments of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar should lay stress on infrastructure development so that industries could flourish in the region, generating employment for the people of the states.
"Industries have not flourished in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to poor infrastructure development in the region," Jaiswal said at the International Trade Fair here.
Lack of employment opportunities has led to exodus of lakhs of people to other states, the Union Coal Minister said.
Infrastructural development will attract more and more investors to this region and help generate employment, the minister said, promising to take initiatives so that the fair could be held here every year.
The International Trade Fair is jointly being organised by the Merchants' Chamber of Uttar Pradesh, National Small Industries Corporation and Indian Industries Association.
